Tales from the Courthouse

(While following Attorney-Client Privileges and respecting confidentiality, of course.)

The Cat

During a jail visit, a court-appointed client begged Louis to rescue his cat, who had been left alone for three weeks following the inmate's arrest. Axel and Natalie arrived at the client's address, located the cat and captured him. The cat lived in Louis's office, sitting on his desk and "helping" him with office appointments until the inmate was bonded out. While in Louis's care, he received medical attention and was kept fed and bathed. Cat and Man were reunited on May 1, 2026.

The Juvenile

In 2025, Louis represented a young teenager in juvenile court who was set for dismissal and release from detention. Although this was the ideal next steps, Judge was hesitant to release him, as Mom was in Matamoros, unable to cross the bridge. The child had no one else in the U.S. to be released to. Louis accepted guardianship of the child long enough to gather his belongings, walk him across the bridge to reunite him with Mom, who was waiting with open arms.
